“I don’t think we could have asked for a more beautiful evening, do you? Okay, watch the skies please… We now show uncorrelated targets approaching from the north-northwest.” Inspired by one of our favourite films of all time and based on the fictional Mayflower Project Team from the 1977 science fiction classic Close Encounters of the Third Kind. We are not alone.
Becky Knowles wins Best Picture of February for creating this wonderfully macabre homage to Re-Animator. Incorporated into the image is our Miskatonic Medical School T-shirt inspired by the film. “Mr. Jones! I’ve heard a lot about you, sir. Your appearance is exactly the way I imagined.” A brand new design and a homage to Captain Katagana and the vessel Indy uses to flee Cairo in Raiders of the Lost Ark. These T-shirts are a must have for any serious fan.
“Chuck. Chuck. It’s Marvin – your cousin, Marvin BERRY. You know that new sound you’re looking for? Well, listen to this.” Brand new design to the Last Exit to Nowhere range and based on the fictional band in the film Back to the Future. These T-shirts ROCK.
February 2011 sees the UK release of the highly anticipated science fiction comedy film Paul, starring and written by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. We were bowled over when Simon approached us last year to see if we’d be interested in creating a design based upon a reference within the film and we jumped at the chance. Here’s a sneak peek of the result.
These T-shirts will go on general sale from 14.2.11 in conjunction with the film’s release and are only available to UK and European customers. Restrictions apply. Paul is distributed by Universal Pictures and is released in the UK from February 14, 2011. For further information about the film click on the image above. Playboy’s ‘worksafe’ website The Smoking Jacket review of Last Exit to Nowhere:
“Fake branding and insignia for infamous movie characters and films has taken over the indie T-shirt market as of late, and we may have found the best of the best when it comes to bringing nerd flicks to life in the most simplistic and cool way possible.
Based out of the UK, Last Exit to Nowhere is owned and operated by a collective of film geeks and T-shirt freaks with an eye for design, which shows in their merch. Some of their best creations include a Ghostbusters-inspired tee, a shirt for the record store from The Blues Brothers, and an Abe Froman-inspired design from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, among others. Chances are, if you’re looking for unique schwag inspired by a classic movie favorite of yours, you’ll find it.
Last Exit was kind enough to offer you guys some freebies inspired by Back to the Future: the Dr. E. Brown Enterprises design and the Hill Valley High school pride tee. And Playmate Kimberly Phillips and Playboy Radio host Jessica Danielle Hall–stars of Playboy’s Back to the Future tribute (slightly NSFW)–were even kind-er enough to model them for you in the hot gallery.”
